What are the real estate requirements?
The average size of a Stricklands Ice Cream franchise store is 1,200 to 1,800 square feet. Typical locations are near residential areas, commercial centers, schools, colleges and athletic facilities. In-line strip mall locations and specially constructed stand-alone out lots have both been used for Stricklands' locations. Rent for a Stricklands Frozen Custard franchise store is estimated to be $2,500 to $5,000 per month, depending on factors such as the size, type, condition, and location of the leased premises. In major metropolitan areas, rent may be higher.

How long does it take to open a Stricklands Frozen Custard franchise store?
Opening day can usually occur within 6-9 months from the date you sign the Franchise Agreement. There are many variables that affect the opening of your Stricklands Ice Cream franchise store, such as selecting your location, obtaining building permits, completing leasehold improvements, attending initial franchise training and hiring employees. Our Franchise Support Team fully assists you with the process of developing and opening your Stricklands' store.

What training will I receive?
We conduct an intensive, one-week training session at our Akron, Ohio headquarters. You will gain both "back office" and in-store experience covering all aspects of operating a Stricklands Ice Cream franchise. We also provide our Franchisees our comprehensive Franchise Operations & Policies Manual, which provides detailed information concerning the development, opening and ongoing operation of your Stricklands Ice Cream franchise.

What other assistance is provided?
Prior to and during your opening week, our Franchise Support Team provides up to 7 days of onsite assistance at your Franchise location to assist you with your grand opening. Our Support Team will also ensure your employees are properly trained, all equipment is in proper working order, and your store is ready for opening. We also provide our Franchise Owners ongoing advisement and support concerning every aspect of a Stricklands Ice Cream franchise business.

What does a Strickland’s Frozen Custard franchise cost to open?
The costs of a Stricklands franchise depend on many variables. The range of investment varies from $288,500 to $495,000 and includes all of the costs and expenses you will incur to open a Stricklands franchise (including six months of lease payments and additional working capital that may be required during your first three months of operation). What is the royalty fee?
Our royalty fee is 6% of total gross sales (not including sales tax). It is important to note that Stricklands does not markup the cost of any inventory, products or suppliers that are purchased by our Franchisees. Franchisees receive the net price that Stricklands Marketing Corp. negotiated on behalf of our franchise network.

Do you recommend that I visit the corporate office?
Yes, we definitely encourage you to schedule a visit with us at our original Stricklands’ location in Akron, Ohio. This will enable you to meet our team, view our operation, tour a few of our franchise stores, and of course, sample our incredible ice cream! When you are ready to review our Franchise Disclosure Document, we will provide you our FDD Request Form, which enables you to select whether you would like to receive the FDD in hard copy or PDF format.
